Our workshops for primary schools are designed for Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2.
The history, science, art and geology of this area are brought to life through our engaging, interesting and participatory learning sessions.
Our ‘hands on history’ approach means that all workshops include object handing. The museum objects help children increase their knowledge and understanding, and inspire children to ask questions and be ‘museum detectives’. All learning sessions also include time to explore the museum.
Learning sessions are linked to the updated National Curriculum, and include topics such as the Stone Age in Cumbria, WW1, Timeline, Rocks and Discover Art.
All sessions are 2 hours, and are £3.00 per pupil. A self-guided visit is £2.50 per pupil. Pre and post-session resources are available for each learning session.
