…Explore history through the eyes of Keswick’s women

The session concentrates on Keswick’s home front during the First and Second World War. Students will explore the different
aspects of women’s contribution to the war effort. The session will focus on activities such as knitting
for the troops, sending parcels to the soldiers and working in the nearby ammunition factory.
Additional they will investigate the motto ‘make do and mend’ a government concept first thought up
during WW1
