The children get an insight in the work of an archaeologist focusing on prehistoric Cumbria. They discover authentic source material like Neolithic Axes, handle and explore replica domestic objects to get a sense how our prehistoric ancestors lived and survived. The programme invites children to develop historical questions, draw contrasts and develop perspectives and judgements about life in ancient time. The objective of the project is to help children to develop an awareness of of the past, by exploring the methods and work of an archaeologist.
