Introduction to lichen

Join Plantlife and Keswick Museum for an introductory session to the lichens of Borrowdale. The morning will focus on the basics in lichen biology, ecology and identification with access to microscopes . After lunch, we will go to a Borrowdale woodland (car share) and put into practice everything learnt throughout the morning.

  • 14th May 10am-4pm (FREE donations welcome)
  • 30th July 10am-4pm (FREE donations welcome)

The workshop will be delivered by April Windle, who works for Plantlife as the Project Officer for the ‘Looking Out for Small Things’ project, a two year HLF funded programme to raise awareness of the Atlantic woodlands across the Lake District www.plantlife.org.uk/LOST.
