Volunteer Open Afternoon

Our happy band of volunteers play an essential part in caring for and sharing Keswick’s heritage:

  • Welcoming visitors 7 days per week
  • Looking after out historic and art collections
  • Marketing our range of services
  • Planning and delivering exhibitions
  • Helping visitors to enjoy group visits and special events

Since our refurbishment we have been working hard to become self-sufficient, reliant on admission charges, shop sales and support form the Friends of Keswick Museum. The charity is predominantly a volunteer-led organisation – KMAG Ltd. is run by volunteer trustees and the Museum is supported by a dynamic group of Front of House volunteers.

We would like to increase our volunteer base and will be holding an open afternoon on Tuesday 14th April at the Museum from 2–4pm. If you enjoy welcoming visitors or would like to help with our collection and want to find out more, please call in for an informal chat and a cup of tea with Tracy Henderson and Margaret Martingale.

We are looking forward to a busy summer this year, hosting the current Grandest Views exhibition and the Wainwright exhibition in May, and extra help would be very welcome.
