Over the past few months, the team has been working on creating a complete audio tour of the Museum. With the help of a talented voice actor, each and every information panel in our galleries has been brought to life with warm, informative spoken narration.
Whether you require an audio option as part of your access needs or just fancy a spoken tour of the museum, the trail is free to listen to and available on any device connected to the internet. We hope you try it out and enjoy!

How to access the audio trail
In the galleries: QR codes using a mobile device
- Make sure your mobile device is connected to the internet (there’s free WiFi in the museum – ask at reception).
- Open the camera app and point it at the QR code at reception.
- Click the ‘SoundCloud’ link.
- Explore the playlist of recordings on our SoundCloud page. Select the panel you wish to hear, or listen to the clips in order for a ‘tour’ of the galleries.
Note: if listening to the audio clips in the galleries, please use headphones or keep the volume low to avoid disturbing other visitors. We have a spare pair if you need them – just ask at reception. If you have any difficulty accessing the audio tour, please ask one of our friendly volunteers or staff for assistance.
Tip: if you download the SoundCloud app, you can listen to the clips ‘in the background’ on your device. This allows you to listen uninterrupted with the screen turned off or whilst using other apps.

About Access All Areas
This project was funded as part of Access All Areas, an 18-month project funded by the Arts Council to increase access to Keswick Museum’s collections. We are working with partners to reinterpret collections, recruit volunteers who face barriers, deepen community links and improve our resources for diverse access needs.
